Marcello - I am ploughing my way thru JWildfire, Xaos and Apophysis tutorials ... these programs are not as intuitive as GIMP and some tutorials appear to be written on the assumption that you know everything in the first place!

Anyway, I found a 'script' in JWildfire that turn your fractal results into heart shapes, so by virtue of that plus some GIMP scripts here is today's playtime result ...

I was using ordinary Apothysis, so I downloaded Apothysis7X and it came with an (obscure) link to tutorials that assume no prior fractal knowledge. They are excellent and have already clarified some key issues I was having (senility being one of them ) and have really paved the way for better results.

So here is the outcome from my first Apothysis7X tutorial ...

first of all my version is 15B there is also 15C but I think that my suggestions will work.
FIRST STEP
1. under Apophysis7X directory you should have a folder PLUGINS
open and copy the .ddl files that you can find in the attached zipped folder
(these are additional plugins that I collected in the past)

2. open the program and click Editor(fx) you will see at the bottom of variations the new plugins ( now you can work with these extra)

Marcello, Thank you so much for your kindness. I've tried to add your Plugins but the programme says no, as my system is 32 bits and yours is 64.
So I've have to remove them from my folder. But don't worry, because my main problem is to know how it works and the steps to follow. I'm trying to find tutorials in PDF to learn step by step, too.

Issabella sorry but my system is Windows 32 bits!maybr the zipfile is wrong!

Done, Marcello. After that when I open Apophysis7X says as I have those three plugins, but in the folder they aren't with the same name. That is odd.
Sorry, I have 158 plugins in my folder but I said before, the problem is that I don't manage to create anything nice. I'll try it.

Marcello - thank you for the plugins; there is a tab in settings that I set to 'select all' in order to find the new plugins in the 'variations' tab of the 'editor' window. I will have a play today and see how it goes.

Issabella - I found the instructions/tutorial I used under the HELP button (actually '?' button); there are linkls to both the Apophysis User Manual (tutorials) and the Flame Algorythm info. Also I searched Deviant Art and found some too but have not tried them yet.

So much to learn ...!

to be honest I don' t remember the use of SELECT ALL in setting, my setting include only two ( linear3D and spherical)!

It very difficult to start to build a flame I usually start with a script on blank flame
or on one of my thousand in library.
here one of my first build fractal!!!...lettuce!!!!

Marcello, I have Apophysis 7x 64 bit and some of the plugins in your pack don't show up for me. I think they are out dated.

Plugins that don't work for me are avHexes, blur_heart, circle1, circle2, circus, collideoscope, cosine, crob, cropn, cross2, droste, eclipse, waffle, tancos, wedge_juliaFL, wedge_sphFL, splitbrdr, splits, SphericalN, square, Squarize, sinecho, as well as many others. I have too many to name.

I have windows 32bits Apo7X v.15B
if you tell me one plugin working I will try to understand what happened!

many plugins work only 32bits! I suggest to search in DEVIANTART

I tried adding your plugins and I couldn't because they already exist in apophysis 7x version 16. I will search deviant art.

@Marcello - really excellent Marcello; I'm so glad that you can get something out of Apo7x because, despite my initial absolute joy at completing Tut #1 (feathered wings above), I have been completely frustrated with Tut#2.

It's about creating a Grand Julia and Chapter 2 then refers to making setting changes to the 'julia' variation - well there is no 'julia' variation available in the list, even after I load the 'julia.dll' from your download! There are a number of other variations containing 'julia' some with '.x86' and some with '.x64' extensions, so maybe it is something to do with the Apo7x X64 version I downloaded.

Still, I will keep persevering!
