They look (to me) like flowers.
If they are, render them broken to adhere to a nightmare concept.
If they aren't, I don't see what they represent, and I do not feel them as part of a nightmare..

No flowers, Diego, they're supposed to be flames, fire.
Apparently not clear enough, I've edited the outcome.

Ella Louise - as always Ella, you have created a scene that is delicate and warm, an eloquent image which speaks of hope, expectation and fulfilment. :jumpclap

I really love it, Ella. I do not think I could ever state it as well as OMG! It is very heartwarming, and a bit mystical. A perfect scene. Great job, Ella!

Ella, you have reached the perfection!
You talk to our souls, our hearts, our minds; you have created your unique painting style.
This has always been true in your creations, but there is something new this time: the strenght of the friendship, which tells us we are not alone, and the homesickness, which invites us to rethink our roots in our intimacy.
And your technique has reached here its top.
Fascinating.

oldmangrumpy, Wallace, Pat and Diego, thank you for your nice words.

Sometimes it surprises me others can see in my work what I really mean by it.

Pat
, I'm happy you find it heartwarming.

oldmangrumpy, the warmth, hope, expectation and fulfillment with which the children, in connectedness,
look into there future.

Diego, the warm friendship, the homesickness, also for our youth ...
I have two older sisters, the little girl portrays me.

Not much inspiration lately. Therefore an outcome based on a Photoshop tutorial by rafy A.

Nice to see you back, Ella.
Some comments:
- IMO there is not enough depth of field
- if the light source (as it appears) is behind the girl, the shadows of the diamond shapes are wrong.
Sorry.

Might be wrong, but when you zoom in, it looks like she is facing the light. So it is her back we are seeing.

Either way, it is beautiful. Looks as though she has something on her mind and is remotely alone to think without disturbance. I really like it Ella.

Don't say sorry, Diego, when you give your impression of my creation.
That there is not enough depth in it, you may be right.
As far as the light and shadow are concerned, the intention was the light source should come from the rising sun.
So I think the shadows are correct.
Maybe the light source is not strong enough then. Or the light should be coming from the squares.
Then the shadows are wrong.
I'll try to adjust it with more time.

Pat, thanks for your comments too.
You had seen what my intention was in relation to the light :)
Your explanation is also nice.

Always good to read constructive criticism. Thank you.

Ella Louise - so good to see you back here, once again with a thought provoking image. As far as lighting is concerned, I thought the squares had their own neon lighting system Everybody to their own!
