There are 4 built in julian plugins for Apophysis 7x verson 16. They are: Julian, Juliascope, Julia3D, & Julia3Dz. I also have the .86 and .64 extensions as well. I keep both.
The Plugins that you add manually are: Julia2 & Julia3Dx. Those can be found on deviant art.
The Apop download I got was from here: http://apophysis-7x.org/download

OMG : I think the problem is that the tutorial is for Apophysis 2.09 where you can find julia ( I worked on that tutorial)in Apo7X there are other type of julia

Suggestion : use scripts and flames
I attached some scripts ( they work on my Apo7X vers. 15B), unzip and put in script folder; see if they work; good luck
ULTIMA SPES - I find Jwildfire updated and with excellent begin tutorials, try this one

I attached a flame that I made with JuliaN
1. unzip
2. delete .txt so the file name will be JuliaN.flame
3. copy in the flame folder
4. call the flame in the program

@Marcello - thank you for your continung support in my fractal learning venture; over the last 6 months I have found GIMP to be extremely intuitive and easy to learn, but these fractal programs ... no further comment!

@Maclenzieh - thanks for your input too.

One extremely good feature of JWildfire is the script I can run to produce heart images from all my fractal failures, especially as 'hearts' feature prominently in another thread right now ...

Tomorrow back to learning fractals, where I will try out the solution options provided above by the 2 Ms, seriously this time

I just learn that Apophysis flame can work in JWF if you have the requested variations ( called also plugins)
You can copy in JWF the Apo scripts by changing .asc in .jwfscript with the prior limitation. I have to try

I agree with Marcello ..that last JW fractal is worthy of display in a.n.other forum/website.
It also tiles well..

I do like your tiling of the image Jontait2 and have downloaded it to my patterns.

No Marcello, I have nowhere else I post anything, but maybe once I get to know just what I am doing I might - I forgot the golden rule though Marcello ... I did not save any 'parameters'!

OK my last ones now as I think I am starting to understand the fractal program parameters much better now - these variations on a theme are from JWildfire, which I like best amongst the several I have tried recently.

Then, as Marcello suggested, I will find another repository for fractal images and get back to GIMPing ...

... although these fracs do form a good base image to GIMP upon!

Pink is my wife's favourite singer/performer and I just could not resist putting P!NK into that pink fractal

Also I have a strong economic theory about 'retirees' - basically we contribute significantly to the economies of many countries by spending our money buying things and travelling as tourists; I see it as a most important role but our kids are worried they will end up with no inheritance. :roll:

But Anmal, now to the most important point ... in about 2 hours time Aussie Ladies take on Sweden Ladies in the football world cup in Canada - I shall be watching !!
