Yes, I built many engines for cars and motorcycles. I remember removing and replacing a VW motor in a Beetle by just lifting it by hand. That was many years ago though. Those engines are quite light anyway.

I'm not a mechanic but I replaced a head on a 4WD ute last year. For some reason my friends are mechanics. I think it's a very under-rated trade. There is a huge amount of information involved and I find it's very time consuming. For some reason people like to take for granted how their wheels keep turning.

Replacing a head is no easy task. I assume it over-heated, then warped and/or cracked the head? Mechanic is just one of my many job skills. People take mechanical things for granted because they don't understand how they work.
