Oh dear; went to post earlier and mine looked like the same original image as Meemaw, so I revised mine somewhat ...

Here my contribution too. Mine is quite and very deep even overwhelming, I think. It's really a fusion of three ocean pics and a large galapago, then I applied the right atmosphere for the occasion. :)

I created this image for the 'Water Works' G-A-U Mini Challenge Contest sponsored by GIMP Artists Unite on deviantArt.
Lots of effects/filters were used to create this image.
I also used many references to help me to create the whale that's within the image.
I enjoy using the 'Posterize' filter and also the “Dissolve” layer mode,
to aid in creating the water effects.

Both beautiful. We've got Finding Nemo and Orca! I know it's not a killer whale, but it is a killer picture!

Thank you very much you guys. :bigthup

I never heard back for the the deviantArt group running the contest.
So I guess my entry wasn't one of the winners. :hehe

Nice one Wallace; I was not happy with my last attempt in this thread so I looked for inspiration in the waters of Sydney Harbour.

So many entries! :D It's good that people comment on each other's entries too, makes it more fun for everyone. :)

Sweet and creative and on point, just the thing for the RAP. :)

Okay so I failed the labcoat idea but I must make up for it! So here is my little overhead beach scene...Something I've never done in this perspective. I was just doodling around, I wanted to make something new not just color in something like I was originally gonna do.

I recorded me doing this one so I might post a timelapse later.

Cute xD

That's a very nice overhead beach! Looks like a nice day for getting some suntan!

Kevin

I like the light here, and the fact that the boat is red against the predominantly blue/grey of its surroundings. Was this post-processed after you took it as well?

Thanks Griatch for your kind words and for perpetuating this random topic thread.

Hah, it's clearly your cup of tea, it's right there!
And I'm glad you are enjoying the weekly RAP. :)

This one was a little easier to think about something.

A lot of history and backstory in that image. At least the cockpit is open so maybe the pilot jumped or their body was already removed from the wreck ...

Okay. Serious this time:

Hah, I liked the Danny Ocean reference too. :) There is definitely no question about what the topic of your "Ocean" image is. ;)

The light is great in this one, and the filter effects makes this look like light is passing through glass. Good job with this!

A little more subtle, still a very clear image topic. :)

This outcome was quite surreal, and almost a little claustrophobic! Interesting effect.

It comes right at us! I agree, there is good feeling of depth and weight there, you got the mood down well for this image I think.

The only rule of RAP is that you should make something new for it. that's the whole point. ;) But anyway - it's a cool picture that reminds me of one of the Douglas Adams book concepts (although that would have been Dolphins I guess). "Goodbye and thanks for the fish" is the name I think. Well done!

Fun combination of the cartoony and the "realistic" Are the two of them racing for the ring on the ocean floor?

Very cool sillhouetted image! The rays of light gives it a stylized feel (almost like the Japanese flag) and the rider's wild hair hints are both wind and maybe some backstory. The exaggerated size of the sun helps make the image more dramatic - some bombastic music could go with this. :) Well done!

Thank you Griatch.
I'll make note of the rules and follow them,
for any subsequent images that I might post.
