Diego and Issabella - thank you for your comments. I'm enjoying this portrait phase of my Gimp work, be it quick sketches, sketch/portraits (the half way house) or the the full on artistic portrait. Learning lots and having fun; best retirement gifts ever.

Here are a couple more sketch portraits; first of Hope Solo, famous for being the goalkeeper of the extremely successful USA women's football team from 2002 to 2016, but also for some other possibly nefarious activities.

Second one is old mate Paul Hogan in his well known Crocodile Dundee guise.

On a roll with these sketch portraits. This time it's Ernie Dingo, well known Australian indigenous actor, comedian, writer and TV presenter - an all round top guy.

Definitely on a roll with sketch portraits, but here is the last one to complete a set of five; Joanna Lumley, well known British actor, comedian and TV travel presenter.

Diego - again, thanks for your supportive comment. These reasonably quick sketch portraits are interesting because they help me decide just what to emphasise in a person's features or adornments to get the desired and pleasing result. I post them in this thread because I am keeping my 'portraits using Gimp' thread for the real artistic portrait attempts.

Complete change of pace now; as our wine industry has recently suffered some major export blows, I am trying to drink more wine to help them out  :hehe

Red sky and organic red wine from the Hunter Valley.

Gimp life moves in mysterious ways; for some reason whilst doing the sketch portraits and whilst looking for pics to respond to Griatch's challenges, I accidentally came across some cartoon portraits/clip art of business ladies. So I thought why not.

So here is the first (of a series) of my 'cartoon portraits'. Yes, I did reference and model them on clip art images on the web, but they are all created in Gimp from scratch, with my own interpretations added, especially the hair.

Today's business lady cartoon portrait definitely shows someone who has had a bad day at the office!
