I like the concept.
I was thinking that maybe the road could continuing on into the distance.

That's pretty good for a beginner. I like the color scheme; it's warm and inviting, matches well too. It conveys meaning, obviously the subject is close to your heart. There are a few technical details that could be tweaked, like varying sharpness of your stock and some of the shadows and perspectives. But over all you nailed it. You keep doing this and you'll see huge improvements.
