The only thing I am not happy with here is the tree foliage on the left. I need to find tutorials on this. I painted this with no plan in mind - I just worked from a face outwards. The flowers were inspired by the wild lupins in Orsa, where AnMal's parents live.

erisian: i love your imagination :). you already know what i have to say about it, so i won't repeat any of it, but it's so much fun to see you play like this with images and i hope you always go on with it.

Okay....I opened the link and first was startled. I was not exspecting that at all. :lol
After the initial shock I think this is very interesting. One thing I'd say is the face seems to overwhelm the picture, and the mouth is slanted.

I actually like the tree foliage. And the flowers are pretty too.

Nice!

Erisian - I like it, and wish I could paint. Still, how come I did not see any trees like that when I visited Sweden.

Thank you everybody. :)

The face is the main point of the picture together with the dark creepy forest behind him and the whimsical title of the painting. The tree originally had a lopsided grin for character but the grin got lost somewhere. :)

Well, somewhere deep in the heart of Dalarna....... :hehe

I really like this one--it reminds me a bit of "The Forest Has Eyes". I wouldn't say the face dominates the image, but this seems like more a matter of taste than anything else.

However, I do feel the foliage needs a bit more depth (the tree, left, in particular). It looks flat, perhaps because there aren't enough shadows.

I don't like the foliage at all and I need to find a good tutorial.
