this started out with me just making a dollface manip for a deep dream project, but when it was done i had a pixie and the deep dream project didn't include pixies, so i made this instead. first full-on fantasy thing i've made in a long time and i'm quite happy with it.

Well, today's the first day of Autumn (which we call Fall in the states). Weird that it's on the 23rd. Always thought you only had to worry about 21st or 22nd when it came to the seasons.

sallyanne: you're right! i had actually planned to put paisleys in there, in the shape of autumn leaves, but then i thought i'd better keep up the relative simplicity of the composition. thank you for commenting .
moko: thank you sister ! i love the colours too, and since it looks like we're heading for another warm, greenish grey autumn over here this was a way for me to compensate. i haven't got over my fear of bugs, but i'm at least getting better a looking at pictures of them. dragonflies have never been much of a problem for me as long as they don't fly up in my face or sit down on me, butt it still took a bit of courage to look for good image material for this one. the worst part was getting the moth for the second little fairy, though, i simply can't stand seeing moths close up!

On my 16th birthday a praying mantis jumped on my shoulder and I slapped it and it flew away.

moko: oh the horror!!!! i'm not sure i could have survived an up close meeting with a praying mantis. i can't look at praying mantis pictures.
lylejk: i forgot this comment, but it raised my curiosity - why do you have to worry about the 21 or 22 in relation to seasons? and how do you know the 23d was the first day of autumn (or fall, i do know about the difference and i think fall is a lovely old word)? in any case, here in göteborg we don't really have a real autumn yet, we haven't had one for years and i miss it so much!
