This is a Suborean Guard Combat helmet. It's supposed to be steampunk styled. Critiques would be appreciated thanks.

I feel it looks alright, but I have nothing to compare it with.

The edges could be a bet more rounded/smooth, or not so angular and maybe something added to the neck area, would help to make it feel more functional.
Perhaps showing part of a zipper or straps along the back part of the neck material?

Thanks for the feedback Wallace . Yes I see what you mean about the back of the lower head/neck area, my design does look a bit bizarre there - I like your idea of straps at the back there - thanks .

Thanks also for picking me up on how angular it looks, I based the picture upon a blocky 3D model of mine and didn't do a good job of removing the corners.

Heheh thanks for the feedback Ofnuts, they are supposed to be for humanoid (alien elf type) life-forms. The reason that there is no nose or mouth piece in the helmet is because it has a built-in gas mask that vents out at the back of the head (at that strangely protruding piece at the back of the head). I guess I've failed to elaborate very well on my design - apologies.

You sometimes get these kind of masks when you look for "Gimp" in Google images:)

May I suggest to have a few lines/stitches around mouth/nose/breathing orifice on the mask then (to hint that there is something in the mask) or a widening of the center strip.

And I'm liking your idea of including extra stitching to hint at the built-in gas mask - thanks again Ofnuts .
