Lyle, that is beautiful! You keep saying you are not a glass/crystal guru, but not true! Also, I checked your web site. Beautiful creations. Are you up for a tutorial?

Thanks Pat; believe it or not, I pretty much followed the tut here (used a duplicate engrave layer for the difference layer per the tut). For the curious, I'm attaching my extraction should you folk want to play. Used a script-fu-copy-rotate-nLayer Script-fu for the 12 point rotation.

What is that you started with? The spoke for the star?

Yes; I extracted the shall (see reference) and used the n-rotation script-fu to create the 12 pointed star. Then I processed it.

Like the pearl, but your rez is too small for me. A higher rez would probably make it look better.

Issabella, your star is so beautiful! I love the background pattern (would you share?), and the lighting effect really completes the entire image!

Kimba: Yours is different and I love the colors. Not sure what you used. Are there orange slices in there?

Pat, thank you for your nice words to my outcome. I attach here the pattern I used on a background. Then in Gmic - Deformations - Random with amplitude 10 or 12. I don't remember.

The "fruit" look is the effect of CrystallizeN on the Gmic Bokeh filter,Pat.

Issabella, sorry I didn't thank you for the compliment and tell you that your Star is stunning. OMG,That Star is also an amazing creation and, the rain stopped after a day and a half so ,no watering here for a while either.
