I have a tablet and fooled around with it a bit tonight, but my freehand is just bloody awful. It is sooooo different than drawing with a pencil or painting with a brush. Perhaps someday...

Anyway, I decided to try to achieve at least something reasonable before going to bed, so I set about using the tools. Selections, fill tools and blur filters. And this is what I came up with:

That's good Steven. I like the fading background shadows. Keep playing with the tablet-it will come in time.

Even using tools, I did all of this with the stylus. It is also helping me get the touch, using to execute commands and so forth.

I did do some fairly mediocre sketching last night in a pen/brush and ink sort of fashion, but it is very hard to get used to the pressures required. They are quite a bit different than the actual thing.

I studied art back in the 80s, but missed the computer bit. I left the Art Institute of Pittsburgh just as they were setting up a computer department in 1984. They had computers at my local college while I was there, but I was studying drawing and painting. This is like learning how to draw all over again. Kind of scary, but kind of fun too.

My apologies - I thought you had put away your tablet before creating this. Excellent work! I would find it very hard to draw a circle that neatly.

Oh no. I didn't draw that sphere by hand. I used the sylus to manipulate the elliptical select tool and flood filled it. I WISH I were that good! :bigthup

No worries. It's all good. I greatly appreciate all the help you have given me.
