It's been a while since I last tried. Diego's cool results inspired me to try again. Still not happy. Need to find a cleaner way to generate the solder patterns.

The best way I have found to do stained glass is to duplicate whatever image youre working on and then grow it to about 6 or whatever looks good fill it with black or whatever color you use for the lead

Then by hand, trace whatever lines you want the window/glass to look like

Here is one I did a few years ago



I used the glass and Plastic plugin to color the wings, duplicated and enlarged the wings filled it with black
I think I ran the plastic filter on the lines so it gave it a little dimension

I was happy with the result {at the time)

Here is another one I did, that has more of a stained glass look to it


although, it doesnt have any panels in it

I think stained glass is one of the hardest things to achieve and make it look like real stained glass

The ones I posted, look fake, because real stained glass vary and each panel is different from the others

On mine, you can see I repeated using the same pattern, and doesnt look real

The Harley wings were made using the plastic and glass plugin. To Me, it looks more like blown glass, but I really like that plugin, and is one of my favorites
