Awesome work Britsie_1! Your painting has a great photo-realistic quality about it. It's fascinating to see the way you work in your video. I love the way you use the free-select tool to make structural adjustments as you go and I was also interested to see how you render hair with the bristles brush - your method results in a nice fibrous quality.

Have you ever thought about switching from a mouse to a graphics tablet? I found that it's a lot less strenuous on your wrist with a tablet.

Good work! It was fun to watch the video. It's interesting that you are doing every small part of her face in finalized detail in a first go. I could never do that, I would need to color a large portion (probably all of the image) first and then gradually refine in order to get the balance of the hues and the light right. You are impressively accurate in getting the reference right, especially around the eyes. Always fun to see how someone else goes about things, thanks for the video and for a successful image!

britsie_1!!! One thing is to put brush to canvas but another, to the umpteenth level, is using a "mouse" and Gimp to achieve what you've done. If I hadn't watched the video, it would be hard to believe.
