Hi! You might know about my poetry challenge I'm doing (link if you don't in my signature), and if you read my tl;dr intro I want to try and make it in to a book. I might not ever get it published (that costs money! Lol) but I can at least have the feeling of achievement of actually putting it together right?!...RIGHT???? :hoh

So, I wanted to try out different arrangements for the layout. I make the layout in GIMP and then put the finished image in Opened Office Draw, I find that easier than trying to arrange stuff with all the weird tools of other programs. Anyways...I tried a few arrangements using my mourning monastery poem set. I'm debating between having all the pages be colorful and interesting or the text being on plain white paper and only the pictures being the fun colorful part. I'm not sure, because I think pretty colors would keep the attention of the reader. I personally have the attention span of a carrot and don't like to read, but I do like books[depending if I'm interested in the subject ofc] (I know that is weird! LOL). So I'm kinda trying to think how I'd keep my own attention.

Here are 3 samples I came up with (And you get 1 full poem, I probably shouldn't be doing that but I love it so much I'm gonna be nice just this once! ;) )...Be honest with me! I'll also upload the pdf I used so people can tell me if it's hard to read on the 2 backgrounds I made...Oh, and most drawings I make are vertical but if I make a horizontal image I will have close up for details so The reader doesn't have to flip the book around.

This one I was trying to keep within the theme like it's over another wall of the old church.

And this I was trying to make it look somewhat like old paper.

Any other ideas let me know! I'll probably try it out. This is a prototype, but I know if I actually do end up putting this all together and making it in to an official book I want it to reflect me in every-way not just be something "that people would buy". I guess you can say I'm for sale but I won't sell out? :lol
Everything is if's but let me dream! It's good for me. XD

Thanks!

God Bless,

~ Moko

I'm voting for the first one too - matching colour scheme as Trandoductin said :). Cool dream though Moko - hope you make it real!

Well it seems the church wall is winning by and over whelming majority!
That makes me glad because that was my favorite too. It's probably a sign of how I should take this idea.

@Artloader - Thank you! I hope so too...eventually anyway! xD
