It looks like 2-ton and I were on the same wavelength; as much as I love glass I have been wanting to try other ideas, so given my first attempts at art some sixty years ago at school was 'lino cutting' ...

I used bevel and emboss, and lowered the opacity of the black and white layers to my liking. But I still am not sure how to make something look carved in or bumped out, most times it can look either way.

2-ton - I am using only 'chisel or carve' for these with a variety of selected bevel widths/shapes and mostly do not need to incorporate the original line art; I try to use different wood colours or blendmodes instead.

OMG, I don't know how to do it. I've tried something but I don't get your results. :(

Issabella - I have had a look at your 'For Lovers Of Photography' thread and I saw your vase of roses which you tried to use as a source image for 'wood carving' in this thread.

I am only using line art or images with just a few, easily separated colours in this thread. I did have a quick play with your roses image but could not make much from it.

I am relying on the subtleties of the 'chisel/carve' script, such as shape and depth to create my 'carved' images. I am also using selections of some key areas with different types of wood, to assist with a little colouring of the final image, but sparingly only.

By the way, some excellent results in your thread and I have just downloaded 'resynthesizer' to have a play with 'heal selection' and 'heal transparency' - so much to learn :)

Beautiful images, OMG! I must request a woodcarving tutorial when you have time. I love the way you do this. The images are so clean, tidy and realistic.

Thank you Dalia. Hope your migraine goes soon. I have them too, so I know how disrupting to life they are.

It has Pat, thank you - as you know the world becomes blurry and awfully loud; glad it's over.

Issabella, that horse is outstanding!
