Not manually...
  1. A 20x20 square grid path in a 400x400 canvas
  2. Distort this path with some math
  3. path-to-shape to generate a circle on each segment
  4. Path to selection
  5. bucket-fill
  6. quadrilateral symmetry, applied twice
