Thanks for the comments, Issabella; belows sort of an outline. :)

Polygonize>random setting (decreased the opacity of the black line to 20). Then blended in my ruby texture followed by metallic something (one of many gradients I have) gradient mapping. Did a few other things as well (nuance things that are hard to explain but enhances the reflections) and voila.

I usually cant as well, but he gave pretty clear steps, so it wasnt difficult.

Your result's perfectly fine, Konstantin. Only you know what you need to make your own result better to your liking. That is your path alone to follow (i.e, who am I to judge).

Thanks Issabella. Many years ago, someone deemed me as an experimental retoucher. That's pretty much how I see myself. Regardless, I wish I had the gumption to be a programmer like Diego, Tran, and many others here. Just grateful that we have such talent that frequent are abode here. :)

Lyle - really like the effect you have achieved here but failed miserably in trying to replicate it myself. More learning required

Learned a lot in the past 14 years of my retouching quest. Keep pursuing the pixel and eventually you'll find your own pixel path, OMG. lol
