Christmas Designs for 2017 (GC Christmas Video Project)

Here's this years e-card,
that I'll be sending to my relatives and friends.

If any of you have a 2017 Christmas design,
that you would like to share.
Feel free to post it.

Any image/design posted here,
will be made into a video.
Showcasing the GIMP art created by our Gimp Chat community,
for The Christmas Holiday of 2017.

The video will be posted to YouTube,
on or a few days before the December 25, 2017 Holiday.

To those wishing to contribute Christmas images to this thread.
Feel free to post as many images and as often as you like.
The more Christmas images we have for the video.
The better it will be.

Note: Images must fit within a 1920x1080 canvas,
or larger.

I thought my image needed a bit more.
So I updated my design,
by adding a bow.

The story is: My friends wife was ill last Christmas. Her little dog Alfie was very worried so he sent her a Christmas card to cheer her up. Just updated the year for this post.

You can use this as your intro clip if you'd like. It's in HVEC format @ 1080p.

Sorry, I had to compress the crap out of it to get it under 6MBs...

I really like that intro.
You did create it,
right?

I was going to create something similar,
but the text was going to have "Gimp Chat" in it.

Perhaps something like,
"Merry Christmas From Gimp Chat To You"
and also,
"GC Christmas Video Project Of 2017".
I'll be sure to include this clip,
as part of the intro to the video.

If you're feeling ambitious,
perhaps you can create another intro,
which incorporates the aforementioned text above?

Yes I did create that a few years ago. Here is the revised version. Lot's of letters, so the text is much smaller...

I was going to use Adobe Spark's free online slideshow maker,
but unfortunately they don't recognize your mp4 files as a valid format.
So I'll need to make the video some other way.
Can you make an animated gif image,
as an intro for the video,
instead of an mp4 file?

In my opinion, Adobe anything is pure rubbish. They can't handle HEVC because they are an inferior product. I could easily whip up a slideshow using virtually any source while using only free tools.

It's you project though, do as you like...

I'd like to think of this as a GC Community Project,
not something that I wish to make for my own use.

Can you suggest a free tool,
that I might be able to use?
The ones I've been trying to use don't recognize you video files.
Maybe you'd like to help create the video,
once all the images have been gathered together?

Sure, I'll put the slideshow together out of the images posted in this thread. You can design the tittle text that I will overlay over the video. Save it as a 32-bit png for transparency. Make the tittle template @ 1920x1080.

I'l also need recommendation for free sound track.

As for s/w suggestion. I run Linux, but I use a free and powerful compositing s/w that is Windows only. I run it under wine. It's not easy to use however. It's called Aviutl: https://www.videohelp.com/software/AviUtl

A basic video editor is Avidemux, free, versions for all platforms.

But it does not (easily) make slide shows. Several of those around but a nice simple slide show application is

Get your slideshow video, append it to the lead-in. Of course never that simple
