Although I'm relatively new to gimp, I tend to learn quickly. I've been playing around with paths and discovered that I can use them to make shapes and save them for future projects. The benefit is I can upsize without quality loss, similar to SVG drawings. I find gimp very good indeed. I'm glad I started to get into this s/w heavy as I did.

Trying to see if I can figure out what the reflection in the superman logo is, or if it is anything or nothing, lol.

Yes, paths are most useful. You just never get perfect paths in Gimp.
Not that Inkscape would be perfect either, leaves also nods on straight lines if you trace a bitmap, but I have never been comfortable with path editing in Gimp.

Thanks for E-map, nice results. Used default settings, round1 bevel.

How did you get the reflection on that. It looks like it was done in ZBrush.

I used BevelReflectLogo and the E-map I posted in post #6 I did mine manually, but forgot what dept I used. It looks fine in default Round1 also.

Here are some more examples on Wilber...

I did not want to create new thread for this because we were playing with Superman logo here.
Light effect was created with Luce plugin. Don't have apng module it's always acted weird, exported layers and used VDub apng Mod to create the animation.

Thanks Issa, RJKD and AnMal.

@ Nidhogg, I never heard of the Luce plugin. My animation looks pretty much the same in full color range and resolution.

BevelReflectLogo and that E-map work great on my gears. The teeth mesh perfectly too....
