Marbles do lead to cobblestones (if you know the secret). :)

Lyle, Wow! I love your result, it is great in spite of being an ugly guy. :hehe :clap

Thanks Issabella. Have to say, though, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder (and so is ugly). lolol

Not ugly, just a typical feature of the Maori people of New Zealand and their art. They also rub noses as a form of greeting.

Getting better at these marble effects lyle.

But seriously, why can you portray a Maori god with marbles but not the president of the US with marbles on Gimp Chat?

I was born in NZ and don't have an issue with how Maori traditions are treated, but I hate inconsistencies and contradictions.

I think we need to update the Gimp Chat site policy just a bit to really reflect a global view.

I'm so sorry. I didn't want to offend anyone. I wanted to make a little joke about Lyle's outcome. But because of my natural way of being, I respect all the traditions of any culture being in the world.

Output of the Voronoi Stippler mask fed into lylejk stencil (another preset that David saved for me and am grateful for it). Have to play with the sliders; if you go too far, you get bridging (and even with this result, I do see a few stones that bridged). :)

That's real nice looking lylejk, I like it even more than the marble version.
It must be laughing to me for rushing to install Focal Fossa earlier...was not great idea from gimp's point of view because my mar-ball technology is dependent on one of Tim's python files. Luckily I have Mint19 on another machine to continue.

Does the dinasset Voronoi indicate it here (# 27):
viewtopic.php?p=219143#p219143
can give similar results?

The effect of my "Fake Voronoi" is this.
IDK if it can approximate what you like to have.

There is quite a difference, stippling applications like StippleGen2 can calculate the voronoi path over and over to make it perfect.
Couldn't get the old voronoi stippler Lylejk uses to run on Win10 64-bit.
6070 stipples, min dot size 1.25 (too small for marbles if you're doing them from pixels, but in my workflow they will be done using the generated .svg voronoi path), dot size range 1.15.
Each generation, of the 30 took about 15-20 seconds to finish.
The image used for stippling was washed-out version of the original Trump image.

Stippled. I think this is good base because the stipples scatter over the canvas fairly evenly.
You just can't make it out well in BW.

I wanted to try the EasyVoronai plugin from dinasset but I realized that it needed patterns or something else because Gimp froze ...

Thank dinasset :hugme
the version that froze the PC was that of the link I indicated in my previous message (plugin "DIEGO_QUANTIZE_EasyVoronoi.py of 10Kb)

Oh, I see, level_0 (BTW, could I know your name? It would be nicer than level_0...).
That's an old 2.8 filter.
Here an example of the outcome, using the same input source.
Do you prefer this one?
