This piece is based on what was originally an observed error. The idea of using the Map Object Cylinder, where the top and bottom caps of the cylinder have a larger diameter than the middle of the cylinder. That lead me to this concept of a film reel:

Those of you who know I like using Gimp for little animations, might wonder if this could become animated. I think it could eventually. I already have some ideas about it and perhaps I'll eventually be able to do that.
This can be made fairly easy, after designing the various parts that is. The Map Object Cylinder used was a Length of 0.20 for all elements of the final result. I rendered each element (top, bottom, sides) separately and then combined them as separate layers on another image. The Top and Bottom caps, which are the sides of the film reel, are based on a Cylinder whose Width is a value of 0.35, while the film piece in the center is based on a Cylinder whose Width is a value of 0.25. I manually added in the extra piece of film seeming to come off of the reel. There are some further details involved in making this, but those are the basics.
Thank you for checking this out.
