Is this a new script/plugin or are you referring to action lines in GEGL? Searched and checked. I prefer using the GEGL action lines or polar array.

I prefer a new layer with the effect on it so i can do further adjustments on that layer.

Filters>render>line nova seems much better.

Make a mask with super nova and its surprising what can be done.
