OK; this is the closest that I could come up with to a wireframed interpretation. I still think G'MIC can do it all, but maybe not; maybe it's just too complicated to do it all in G'MIC. Indeed, G'MIC was integral for this result (my Rodilius, Organic Flow technique with higher sharpening setting and orientations set to 3). Still, I had to do a lot of additional contrast adjustments and also the illustration technique that I outlined before to push details into what otherwise would be a blank frame. Anyone have a better way to do this, please let me know. :)

Very nice effect. I like that you've managed to get the texture look like it's following the features of the face, maintaining the perception of depth.

The effect reminds me of some real-word sculptures I saw by Mike Roles, one of which is here:

Thanks for all the comments. Like that rusted guilded sculpture paynekj. Yes the illustration flow is what gets the detail back in to the trussed sculpture after the Rodilius step. I use illustration flow quite often for many different things. :)
