EDGES
Image
[G'MIC] Edges ; -gimp_compose_edges 1,2.50514,1 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

not sure of what Grain merge does, except that in this case is too dark

Image
[G'MIC] Grain merge ; -gimp_compose_grainmerge 1,0 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

Also not sure of what "Interpolation" does but in this case it did well

Image
[G'MIC] Interpolation ; -gimp_compose_interpolation 1,0 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

THIS IS " FREEZE" , no other information found

Image
[G'MIC] Freeze ; -gimp_compose_freeze 1,0 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

with lower opacity (48%)

Image
[G'MIC] Freeze ; -gimp_compose_freeze 0.430147,0 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

AND "STAMP" ? also here no information found

STAMP -48% Opacity
Image
[G'MIC] Stamp ; -gimp_compose_stamp 0.481618,1 by PhotoComiX, on Flickr

i didn't upload several that can't be used to recover "color", because recolor the bw variant was the starting point:

Gmic "Recover Color" can't be used to recover color to apply to a bw image
For some reason if the target image is in bw so with no hue and saturation Recover Color doesn't work

Difference , Exclusion and Negation may create interesting effects here and there, but simultaneusly bring havoc in other part of the image .... basically are too hard to manage without use masking
XOR also was not adapt
