i have always wanted to do a sunset painting..so i am trying one with gimp..here is what i have so far...

what you have is so perfect..don't change a thing besides adding the foreground!!! l love the silhouette of the mountains and the simplicity and colors of the sky

i did some more work on it......i have added the foreground and a few trees...a few clouds and a reflection of the mountains.....i really think it is coming out better than i thought it would..i may do more work on it later...i may add some highlights to the trees to separate them from the mountains.....

i went back and highlighted the trees. added a little sun light hitting the trees...

Thanks. i love doing art..Bob Ross was my favorite painter :paint and he did a show called the joy of painting...now i know why he would call it that, cause painting really does give you a joy...at least it does me....

Beautiful rdgracer. That water actually looks like it is moving too. Love sunsets myself. Never seem to be in the right place at the right time to take a photo of one. I may have to resort to trying to paint my own.
