This is a hard maple, they're common here. I just thought it was pretty and worth a share. I haven't messed with saturation, this is the way it normally looks.

That looks like a Japanese Maple, I use to have one in my front yard.

Japanese Maples don't grow that large do they Odin. I know there are several varieties and they are very expensive to buy. Most of the ones I see have split leaves and lacy looking.
@Gms, that is a beautiful pic. I just have a cheapie digital Kodak camera and it doesn't capture the colors your cameras do. just a point and shoot.

On closer look your right about the leaves. Ours was over 5m tall, I don't have a picture handy here's a similar one.

I just used my point & shoot Nikon on that one. I take it wherever I go and take my Olympus DSLR for 'artistic' stuff. I have a little Kodak that I took out of the trash and fixed. It's not a bad little camera.

Yes, I really like Japanese maples, we have them here but not naturally, people buy them.
