I want to create a tutorial series of text effects.
The first preview for you is the realistic plated metal text (not written jet).

Textures from cgtextures.com, font:Mod from dafont.com, own brush: DeviantArt
Massive use of bumpmap! :mrgreen:

i like your text effect, its looks really good and professional
and the grungy white on the metal is something special !

Glad you like it.
I want to collect all good stuff about text effects using GIMP on this website.
You can help me when you post just a link of a cool tutorial.
I will take some from here, Gimptalk, gimp-tutorials.com, youtube (many work) and other sites.
My plan is to post 2-3 more tuts a day.

Next week i will try to write the tutorial about the metal plate. :yes
