esper: reminds me very much of book covers from the nineties. did you use noise on the gradient inside the text? it has an interesting texture.

no AnMal, its the cubism filter, with a layermask, so that only the middle of the filtered gradient is visible (on Grain Merge)

i think i have most steps - so maybe i will refine this and make it into a tutorial

but tbh, i have two more complete tutorials ready
one for xgeous 3D text and one about tuning your glows
and we had a lot of tutorials this week.....
i think people need to catch up first

No, ombre is french and means something like shaded - it describes anything that starts with one color and then gradually fades into another.

The font i used is called 'Verve'

tbh, i just copied that text from a website and smartassed it into my own words :roll:

You've made some good tuts lately and all are great but I don't have time to post under each of them.
I wonder if you can get kind of amber-like effect with your technique.

Esper: I, for one, hope you will reconsider this decision. As a beginner, more than half of what I have learned of Gimp has come from your tutorials. You have a very clear style of presentation, and it's obvious that you have put a LOT of time and experimentation into them. Your tutorials are in a niche by themselves, and cover topics not really discussed by anyone else that I've seen.
