You probably need to be pretty familiar with the characters in my portfolio to recognize this one or even see what it is at first glance.
Hint - it's a close-up of a troll. The one that sells you stuff. We see part of that proper car-salesman smile.

i really like the idea of a close up like this, where you only see a small part of the character's face, that seems to tell a lot more about the subject than a full figure painting. also really impressed by how beautifully that eye was painted!

Thanks, as mentioned above, this is a really old character of mine, Blackback the troll merchant. He's originally a roleplaying character actually. He's a real dude. If one is not familiar with the character I feared it might be hard to "read" this image, glad to hear you seem to understand it also without the familiarity. As you say, the impression is quite different when limited to only seeing part of the face. One needs to focus it on the few features that makes the personality apparent, quite an interesting challenge actually.

That fur is amazing...I don't know how you ever had the patience to do that.

Love the 'colors everywhere' here, I've seen this before but I'm still wondering how anyone can achieve this kind of colouring, this is really... Alien.
