this project started more than six months ago when erisian had posted this thread: http://www.gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5561&hilit=mature+fairy. i commented on the fairy's choice of make up colour mostly to tease erisian, but after that comment it seemed hard to get off the topic . i started thinking: "if fairies wore make up, what brands would they use and what would an ad for fairy make up look like?" i started by fake painting a fairy (a model pic from an online bridal magazine, i think) and placing her on a background and then i kept working on that but the project stranded because i still had no idea what make up fairies would use and how to get it in the ad, i just had a very general idea of what the ad should look like. but i suddenly remembered something yesterday as i browsed the unfinished folder again - pixie dust. i don't know if this was a thing just where i use to live or if it was universal, but that soft, powdery stuff with little sparkly particles in it that you can brush in thin layers (or thick layers if you're about fourteen) over eye shadow or blusher to get different light or colour effects, we used to call that pixie dust. very fitting for use by fairies, i think. so i made that a brand name and placed it in the ad .

That is very nice AnMal... You picked out some very nice earthy colors for it.

molly: thanks! i really like the colouring, i figured it should be a bit earthier than my usual stuff to go with the fairy theme.

Lovely work AnMal, there is a real fifties feel to the whole design.
