Cheerful close-up

Inspired by my previous The Salesman, I continued with another close portrait. This is another of my characters, hopefully recognizeable. Feedback appreciated as always.

The lips, eyeball, cheek look especially real! I think the eyebrows would too, but the direction of the hairs seems off to me. My eyebrow hairs grow from the center to the side, and they grow sideways, not down....more horizontally. This looks like she used the little eyebrow comb and combed them downwards.

Gram, there are many G'mic filters that change photos into paintings!

Have you tried simply using a filter, such as filter>artistic>oil painting, or SamJ's G'mic watercolor filter? That is an interesting way to see what a photo might look like as a painting. Then, you can find tutorials to do effects from scratch...gives more control and teaches you how to use filter parameters.

! another example of how the close up sometimes says more than a full figure painting. really beatifully painted, as usual.
hmm... i agree with 2-ton about the eye brows. also, i don't know if the whitish line is the rim of her eyelid or the waterline but that looks a little bit plasticky to me.

Agreed on the eyebrows. Changed them a bit - hopefully better now!

The Jester, indeed.

The white line was intended as moisture at the edge of the cornea, but agreed that it was probably a bit too much, so removed it now.

Yes, the eyebrows look very natural and real! And Gram, Griatch's tutorials are so inspiring, if you have any talent at drawing you should try them out. Of course, it would help to use a tablet and pen, but some people can learn to draw with a mouse.
