I created it in Gimp today. It started out as a disintegration art, but took a different turn as most of my work normally does. =P

I used plasma and displace filters for the effect, along with a render of the skate boarder, along with some layer modes.Ill have to get a tutorial together and do it again.I accidentally closed the Gimp program after creating the image as PNG. So I didn't get an XCF in other words. =P

The word Thin doesn't show up until you open the font in GIMP. In the font dialog it is "Inthacity Thin."

I actually tried to duplicate Rod's result, unsuccessfully. I tried a number of methods but never committed to any particular set of steps. My thinking was somehow there was a twirl, spin effect in the mix, but every time I tried it, it would warp into veins of blobs, even with saturated noise...

Maybe he'll remember what he did and share it. My result was an accident of sorts, and then I thought of Lyle's skull.

Yes indeedy the swirl is had in the displacement map values something like x = 1450 and y = 1278....ill get it together soon. =P
