Okay, I will admit, this one ISN'T the best out of them...ChrisF's feather brush is a nice brush but the feathers are too different to make a consistent texture on an actual bird...And I'm already bad at drawing birds...

Soo...Here's my attempt at Chip one of the 2 birds who are main characters of Furry Friends!
The only thing that really shows it's him is the glasses. xD
I think I could do better but idk how, I still have Tilly the toucan (Another bird) to attempt with, maybe she'll turn out better.



I used the fur brush and feather brush by ChrisF, and the bristles brush.

I just realized I drew him on a 1024X768 canvas instead of 1600X1200.
Well he is one of the smaller characters anyway....
I had to resize though, I upload SUPER slow. :S

I hope somebody likes him, I already know he's not the best, I think angel was the best so far and Morris second.

I think he is really cute...love the glasses.

Actually, contrary to what you think yourself I think this your best one so far, Moko. I like those eyes better than the other "closeup" images you did - they look more lively and on the move rather than just staring forward - it suggests more of an inner life in the character. The glasses are a nice touch too that further helps to add interest and personality.

As for some critique, you don't really need to draw every single strand of hair when the character is so stylized anyway - it would probably look better if you merged some strands together into a more coherent haircut (an only slightly more detailed version of the smaller image you have in the background). That's just a minor technicality though.

In all this is probably not the most detailed of your works but it has the most personality (in my opinion), which is worth more than lots of details. Good job.

mokonafan: i thought just like griatch. that this is the one with the most personality of all the close ups ! you don't even get to see his beak properly and you still get a vivid impression of who he is - and that's a great achievement, moko! i really liked this one and i think you're doing great with your close ups. how many have you got left now? is tilly the toucan the last?

aha well...Yeah he does have more expression, I wasn't sure I liked his eyes they looked awkward to me but I guess I was wrong. xD
I knowwwwwwww I don't have to add so much detail to the "hair" and stuff but I feel like I'm being lazy and I get really weird and stuff. xD

I find it funny that I still am not totally happy with him but you people seem to think he's better. Lol!
I have one left out of the Furry Friends (for now, there will be a few more characters later on..Already have one in development), but I think they will have a special unnamed guest to their close-ups...Though I'm not sure it'll be a total close-up..We'll see.
