Cards [Completed]

Hi all, this weekend is both my mother's birthday and also Mother's Day.
I am seeking input on the two card covers while I continue creating the insides.

fluffybunny: i think both of them look good; layouts nicely balanced, readable text, no details that stick out or take over. the mother's day is my favourite, i love the texture of the background and the crayon hearts.

Thanks AnMal, I was aiming for lipstick rather than crayon, but It does look a crayon too doesn't it. I suppose since my mother is 73, it has been a while since she has seen her baby with any crayons

I like them both, so maybe mix them together in warhol and just give her one card for both occasions.

Thanks G, but trust me, 'Mother' would not appreciate a 'combining of the two events'

They both still look a little empty/plain to me as though they just need a little something extra. Any suggestions anyone?

fluffybunny: it's really hard to picture anything that could be added without messing up the balance of the designs. if you wanted to add something i would suggest an irregularly shaped object, asymmetrically placed near one of the corners for the birthday card, to make a nice contrast to the strict layout. and for the mother's day card maybe something to frame it off, wouldn't have to be a traditional frame, but just something that puts a boundary to the picture.
