molly: exactly - thanks for coming to the rescue of the ignorant. in swedish it's we mostly use another kind of plant for this, i really had no idea what chia was before . and esper confused me further with an association to shia labeouf.

Sorry AnMal, I keep forgetting the world is round. Chia is a kind of seed and chia pets are ridiculous but fun. Sorry I wen't to sleep after I posted this and didn't see your question until now. I'm glad molly got you straightened out though.

hahaha, my sister and I always joke that we are going to get each other a chia pet for christmas! For those who wouldn't know...chia pet is a kit that is usually for sale around christmas. It has a clay figure with some rough stripes, a bag of chia seeds, and instructions. You keep the clay figure damp and the seeds sprout and it looks like hair or fur....you can end up with a clay head with green hair,lol
