A gift for Poseidon Gardens , more exactly for Amphitrite a commune friend He is hosting and that take care of His garden

But i hope he too He will like too and the more important that he will not get jealous ...

BTW i found on wikipedia a painting of Jacob_de_Gheyn http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Jacob ... n_(II) from the 16 century, with a quite unusual interpretation of Poseidone and Amphitrite...It seems more in a cave then underwater but you may notice very weird and slimy sort of creatures around Amphitrite (at left)

Image

usually i like to merge my fractal flowers and plants with a adapt background but here i was studying the new shapes so in some cases i left as BG a solid colour to see more clearly the details..

I love all of them. They look like they belong in the undersea gardens. Mythology is one of my favorite things.

About Mythology i am rewriting a short narrative ,i already started on Deviantart :
Poseidon is well know ( at least as Neptune )... but flowers and submarine garden are far to be his main interest

The flowers are a gift for Amphitrite's gardens , the myth of Amphitrite in a later period was rewritten by men, mostly misogynist ; She was too know and respected (Ancient Greeks sailors may have respected Poseidon but in case of real danger they would immediately forgot about Him to invoke Amphitrite benevolence and protection ) to be ignored so they try to reduce her in the role of a nymph so lucky to become Poseidon wife

More exactly reduced to be just 1 of the dozens and dozens of Poseidon wifes ,
because He had a very busy sexual live, with hundreds of feminine wifes and lovers ( SEE HERE :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poseidon#F ... _offspring ) and with a few men , few but the most beautiful (listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poseidon#M ... f_Poseidon )

BUT Amphitrite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphitrite ) was much more , not just a nymph
Both Nereid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nereid ) and Oceanid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceanid ) consider her of their kin and respected as a queen

Poseidon may have some influence over the Sea BUT She was not just a Sea Goddess , SHE WAS THE SEA ITSELF,the Sea and the Ocean and all the flowing water connected to sea and ocean, she was the most ancient personification of the sea [/b]

And i believe she may appreciate my floral homage more then Her husband Poseidon,
...that BTW initially was considered only 1 of the few hundreds of Amphitrite lovers ... :hehe

Very elegant 3d fractals, Photocomix. :bigthup

It is also nice to observe that there is always a meaningful history behind them.
