Fractal is from Mandelbulb 3D. I only used part of it. Mirror arrayed it, adjusted hue/light/saturation. Added a couple of Gimp Brushes/Stamps at different sizes and colours.

sallyanne: wow, you really play well with 3d fractals! good idea to make a coral reef out of it, it turned out really nice. :jumpclap

i've made some few things that i actually liked with mandelbulb3d, but i never tried to mix them with other pictures, i'm gonna have to give it a try.

I may have had in my memory somewhere that someone (don't remember who it was ) said they could see fractals right throughout nature.

You can see fractals everywhere. They are part of all things. Even down to the atomic structure.

Just look at a leaf and you will see what i mean.

Most abused example are broccoli i prefer sunflower...

Fractal geometry is the only way to mathematically describe clouds and trees.
