. the colouring is lovely and you've drawn a very nice looking hippo - i agree with sallyanne, it makes you think of illustrations for children's books.

Not sure about the greenery to the left under the trees, is a too detailed style if confronted with the rest and that risk to diverge the attention from the main subject the hypo .
