Nothing too involved here. It started as a tablet demonstration for AnMal but I thought I would do a little something with it.

The texture on the skin is very nice!
I think varying color would make it more dynamic, but this is very nice nonetheless! :D

It's eye is scary. o.o

erisian: i love torvald, he looks even better now than when i last saw him - the texture on his skin works fine. hmm... of course more differing colours would make it more dynamic, but i like the rather monochrome look of this painting very much, and i wouldn't change it if it was mine. i'd love to see what moko would make with it though :)! i'm very impressed by the background and framing - you used such simple methods and got such a nice, varied background and some real depth in the picture.

edit: i didn't say i love the light in it. i love the light in it!

Thanks AnMal. I kind of like the monochrome look too but I'm just wondering if a splash of colour somewhere might enrich it a bit or whether it would distract from Torvald.

I like it, just looks a little flat, so maybe more contrast in the colours rather than adding more dynamic colours would help.

Thanks he4rty. I was thinking maybe a little detail in the foreground trees. Not too much - just a hint.

I added purple, yellow, orange and brown using different layer modes then some extra shading using black and white with overlay and an overlay of a gradient and turned it down to add atmosphere to the image.

Thank you Mo. I think you were busy with environment map problems. :)

Yes, I was very frustrated all day, really calmed down now though. Now I want a pound of chocolate. I think I should pull out my tablet and get back in MyPaint to draw and paint something, I also like doing eyes.
