The Lysergica Spaceships (we use the term spaceship because they apparently may travel in space, but only a few traditionalist and fan of old sci fi movies use something resembling spaceship, most adapted the new engines on caravan, bus, houseboat and even caves ...) are discovering more and more improbable planets

That was expected since our new Multi_Arachnoidal engines work by attracting and condensing improbabilities , even virtual, and then by multiplying exponentially their possibility to manifest in a useful form and close by

thank to the Multi_Arachnoidal engines our spaceships are really slow, very very slow so they may reach almost instantaneously the farthest destinations :
with our spaceships more the destination is improbable more the chances of success ,
more is far and on a dangerous route quicker and safer will be the travel

We didn't discover the new engines, they , very intelligent and very lazy multi_aracnoidal extra-dimensional creatures discover us

very evolute they known everything about travel in space ,time and dimensions , but are also very lazy and pretend to be always the center of attention
... so they volunteers as smart engines because they don't need to do anything to about, they ARE sort of natural engines , they shift between dimensions and space time coordinates as we breath, it is not a effort , and for sure are also smart:

They like travel with us for free food, the free accommodation , the free dope and even more because as engine in a spaceship they are sure to be at the center of care and attention

here our new engines

Image

Image

you may see how arachnoidal engines change colors according to the mood, the destination, or simply to pretend more attention from the crew

Anyway thank to the Arachnoidal Propulsion we found several new improbable planets...

and many others still unnamed ...

Multi_Arachnoidal smart engines may become very demanding and much care and diplomacy may be required to moderate their claims.

As example our Multi_Arachnoidal not only demands to be worshiped (nobody here has resistances to worship ,especially when between exploding Supernovas and sucking Dark Holes ,even more if the quickest way to convince our cursed engine to move .)

But the problem was our Engine starting to pretend "Blood Sacrifices :wh ", refusing to move without be first be worshiped with a intense Blood Sacrifice, with human blood :gaah

here the engine, in that very moment !

Image

Luckily i found how to satisfy the request of Blood Sacrifices, and simultaneously preserve Crew and passengers integrity:

The bloody mosquito, the bloody mosquito always found how slip in , even in our homemade Spaceship, and for sure they have the requested blood, our own precious human blood !

So instead then kill mosquito as usual we offered them , all of them , blood and corpses, in a intense ritual Blood Sacrifice , introduced by devotional chants and dances dedicated to our new Multi_Arachnoidal deity:

At first our engine seemed perplex by the offer, and was a still moment ,
a seemingly everlasting pause of absolute silence while He was considering our offering

but Multi_Arachnoidal engines ( as most arachnids ) even if nowadays feed mostly on Dark Matter are still naturally attracted by insects as from tasty snacks, and their nutritionists recommend insects as healthy dietetic integrators

more our Multi_Arachnoid Engine highly appreciates Theater and has a vivid sense of humor ...
so he really enjoyed our Blood Sacrifice , including the coup of theater of the mosquito offering
He liked so much ... to pretend a reply on a daily base ! :hoh

Luckily the bloody mosquito not only always found how sneak in our Spaceship, but even tend to proliferate so even a daily " Blood Sacrifice" is not a big issue..

photo comix: :hi5 :jumpclap :clap i was a little bit scared to open up this thread because the word "arachnoidal" sounded veeery scary to someone with a spider phobia. i'm glad i dared to open it though and there was nothing too scary here :)! i love the colours you use in these, love the look of the improbable planets (the multi-arachnoidal extra-dimensional beings doubling as spaceship engines look a little too arachnoidal to love) and i think you did a great job on the atmosphere in the blood sacrifice picture. your stories always entertain me :)

photo comix: i see what you mean about those pictures being the most spider like! it feels a bit creepy looking at the first two, not like looking at a spider but getting close to it. the last one i have no problem with at all and i love the colour and lighting in that one.

Stunning. Really impressive imagery. I don't know what you do for a living but working on sci-fi movies would probably be a good direction to head in.

Glad you didn't find too scaring

Very last our propulsion playing some special visual effects when approaching to Fibonacci Warp speed.

Theoretically Arachnoidal Propulsion is soundless, and doesn't create vibrations or emit light or other visible or invisible rays,
but this is widely corrected by the natural Arachnoidal attitude for Theater and Visual and Multimedia Arts :

So according to the engine 's artistic mood , a wide array of sounds, more or less soft or frantic colored & strobo flashing, vibrations and smells accompany each phase of the travel , with a intensity strictly related to the desire of the engine to remain always at the center of the Crew and Passengers attention

Finally we convinced our engine to avoid sounds of teared metals and catastrophic explosions , even if so skillfully mixed with screams of horror and agony and enhanced by smell of arson , roasted bodies, and melting metals

And as final touch mixed with announcements from a clearly frightened speaker repeating

" Maintain calm,
the situation is totally under control
and there is no reason to panic , ... not yet !"
.

He found them all needed for the best contro-climax before the happy ending ( as successful manoeuvre or landing )
and sure he was right from a strictly artistic point of view , so was hard to convince to limit to a bit less dramatic "contro climax" effects
...but were too much passengers suffering of heatstroke ,or becoming incontinent, at each manoeuvre

Luckily he now found a new "Golden Banding" effect and is experimenting with it so now is distracted from his usual contro-climax special effects

As last warning ..it should be explained that if with the Arachnoidal propulsion ...
Quote:
" ...more the destination is improbable more the chances of success ,more is far and on a dangerous route quicker and safer will be the travel ..."
,
for that very reason you should never dare to use it to try go somewhere close by ,even more if on a safe route, if dangers on the route are highly improbable

Once was done by mistake, and by a very expert solitary traveler :

Noticing the Spaceship freezer empty and too impatient to get fresh beers ,instead then a 15 minutes walk for the closest drugstore he activated the Arachnoidal Improbability Engine , thinking would be quicker

And it was much quicker, a few seconds ,if measured in objective local time ,instead then the 15 minutes by walking

Alas were about 25 years in internal Spaceship subjective time, most spend facing endless series of lethal threads while bouncing back and forward from the farthest corners of the Multiverse ..all this with a empty freezer , no beers and almost nothing left to eat.

... so yes ,he arrived at the drugstore just a few seconds later, but with 25 years more, 35 kilo less and so shocked he even forgot about the beers

Back from other improbable planets

Image

this is close to the Sierpisky belt

You may notice how the constructs of the natives based on recursive multidimensional triangles merge with the rocky structure of the
planetoids

Image

And the Quantum Bridges connecting the planetoids in a network ...

photo comix: i had missed these improbable planets. strange, when i find 3d fractals that are only partly structured they always look like fractal soup, but when you find them they look like improbable planets. i wonder why that is? :hoh

oh, and we have something in common - both missed something. look here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=8815&start=10

Often i start exploring and tweaking parameters of imagine i like, so that risk is limited

Not for those here i tried to explore and combine some formula i never used.
So at first i had no idea of what would come out, except for a vague hint in the formula name, suggesting something related with spiral
Then i tried to imagine what to do with that , and finally i get a planet like shape
well... honestly not too planet like if zooming out , beyond the area i rendered was nothing or just a vague mess , the trick was find the "camera" position to get the interesting part

as for the very last series i was trying to tweak one of the build in parameters, and i was getting nothing ...literally nothing
Till the 3rd attempt and there i was fascinated to see how the "metallic" part was merging well with the "rocky" part, i so i started to play with lights and colours to try to enhance the effect

@Erisian
Thank ... i too like a lot how they merge , i would have explored more but those last were so sloooww to render
...1 more then 8 hours : i know it would take long so i click for render just before going out to do a lot of commissions,
but when i finally was back it was still calculating the ambient shadows :hoh

this is a first wip for a sort of contest, i will not submit this because the other works proposed are much better (are here http://mandelbulb3dteasers.deviantart.c ... y/46117456 )
but the progression may be interesting ...

The start was not too encouraging, but judging from the preview looked at least usable to create some type rocky landscape , so i made a render , not at high resolution to speed up things ,,but sufficiently large to see the detail better.

Image

now i tried to chose and close on the most interesting details ,
that were just 2, on the lower right something protruding out of the main shape, maybe tweakable as a bridge , and something else more on top but too oblique and partially crop, so here i zoomed in and rotated to get both better

Image

and now , i sort of like the lower protrusion but is hard to use as "bridge" because leads nowhere , doesn't connect to other objects so i focus instead on the other possible interesting detail

Image
