Mr Meteor was passing by and this caused some serious meteorologic turbulence, hopefully the crew on the boats in the BG survived
(there are no historical records on the boats , except then in a old dutch paint ...)

As i was saying Mr Meteor may cause meteorologic turbulence with his passage, but in this case He really didn't care because he was finally invited to a very private Fusion party in Vulcania's Dome .
The fire of passion was pulsing , Vulcania was passion and fire, Vulcania hot as melted lava...

Well Vulcania WAS fire and melted lava but fire was in his Nature too and he was not scared by the Fusion only impatient

here a slightly different shot of Mr Meteor passage , he is getting close to the red flaming aura of Vulcania Dome

Image

and here the expanding labyrinths of rocky but organic caves that mark the Entry into Vulcania pleasure Dome

that is also my second submission for the same contest.
I did this first but i was not happy, only after the other , the "first" i decided to resurrect it , i did not render again but i tweaked a lot lights colours and fog till i didn't get sufficient contrast and depth

Now i am thinking to use gimp to integrate the text and mount as a 4 pages (1 for the cover :cool ) mini-graphic novel

Mind that only Fire Elemental and affine may dare to attempt a Fusion with a hottie as Vulcania ,
and in case the combined energy released may even create a bit of turbulence around .

Even if should be said that after the famous Fusion Melting Party she did in the 1883 , in her Krakatoa refugee ( a record here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krakatoa ) , Vulcania become a bit more discreet .

Yet is better stay at large, if you are not a Fire or Fireproof Elemental

photo comix: i like the entrance to vulcania's dome, looks like a place you'd really want to explore ' if you were a fire- or fireproof elemental, of course. i also like the one whhere mr meteor gets a bit too close to those boats, you did a nice job of putting background and fractal together.

Not sure if so we should hope Mrs Asteroid very distract or very tolerant about adultery
If Krakatoa was caused by Vulcania satisfied passion we may imagine what may happen in case she get interrupted by a rival

except for the BG in the first is no much gimp art
But Mandelbulb3D(or shortly M3D) renders basically 3D fractals by combining formula
you may imagine "formula" as a equivalent of "filter" , with sliders and/or numeric boxes corresponding to the variables

A main differences is that you may combine more formula, and with different methods
