I used this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkcUhsITbWk and applied the effect to a snowflake brush instead of text. I mixed up with different colors and gradients that I filled each snow flake with. I hope that helps you I have not quite mastered explaining my creations but I am working on it.
