I followed a photoshop tutorial for this one. It took me quite some time to do as adding all those paths, then stroking them, outer glowing them and blurring them was enough to drive me to drink, which it did :bigthup Well, it is Christmas after all.
Here's a link to the bigger Deviantart version http://fav.me/d6zvlb9 Thoughts and comments always welcome.

@Rellik419, that inner glow is probably coming from within that hot body.

That turned out really well. Do you have a link to the PS tutorial too? I might be interested in poking at it.

I'm never too sure about adding links to non Gimp tutorials, sort of thinking that the authors might not like it. But I can't see anything saying not to link, so I guess it's okay.

It's well worth having a look at. Not all of the steps work in Gimp as described in the tutorial, so that's where the experimenting comes in.

Thanks for the link Caz. I just file it under creative credit. They're trying to teach me something and I'm trying to learn something. It's so not my fault if we're not teaching/learning the same program, eh?

Thank you caz,
Just looking at this tutorial gives a person lots of how to hints. I like the way he turned all the vertical strokes into sparks by changing the mode to dissolve as one of the modes I have only used a few times. I also like the way he used the bezier (pen) tool to make all the neon hi-lites. very nice results
