Custom Fonts for 2023

I do know what you mean Tas.

When I started work on my custom fonting take in 2017 my idea was to marry a message with a joined-up custom font...

Themes to suit joined-up text

The title seems a little less relevant now so perhaps I should start off a thread like the one on GimpLearn i.e More than just a pretty font.

A custom font in four compressed download folders containing 18 files.

Download, decompress and place the files into a workfolder. Put the custom font back together with the Re-Assembler plug-in recently added to post#1. More after the downloads...

Assuming that you have placed all the 18 files in a folder and installed the Re-Assembler plug-in.

Open the base file in Gimp - this is the file named Chango_600_Threaded - it should appear as the first file in the folder unless you have sorted the file view by size for some strange reason.

Open the plug-in dialog:

Filters>>Custom Fonts>>Utility Tools>>Custom Font File Re-Assembler v 01…

Select the options for adding the characters that you wish to use in your version of the custom font and click 'OK'.

Now save the custom font in Gimp to its final destination and delete the workfolder files that are surplus to your need.

Use Re-assembler from post#1 to assemble the parts of the custom font that you want...

Two options for dealing with your problem...

Scale down the size of your custom font

Split the custom font into smaller files and upload in chunks. (i have a couple of pairs of plug-ins for doing this but it can be done manually using 'File>>Open as Layers...'

This started life at 1000px high but was scaled down for GimpChat.

Use stitcher in post#1 to stitch the two files back together after downloading and decompressing and saving to a work folder.

my computer broke down and it will take time to get a new one so i stopped making fonts. I have an intel celeron processor netbook, it is not possible to do any work with it, it works slowly so I have to leave you for a while sorry
