I like your innovative fonts.
I am having problem to compress the fonts.

You can obtain your own sourceforge website and upload them there without a hitch Issabella.Then link them here like i do.
And it would be good for Gimp Chat as well, because it would save on image room (space). We had that problem before on Gimp Chat and more image space had to be added by the owner. It got to the point where nobody could upload an image.

Rod: Thinking about it and investigating (can you say what is the size of hosting space allowed?)

Issa: Couple of points
Obviously height of image increases size.
The texture of the panels is beautiful but sadly does not lend itself to good compression.
I find that certain effects like adding a glow effect or using the lighting effects plug-in does increase the size of custom font files.

I always test out the compression on the full size custom font file to assess how many parts to split the file up into.
It's annoying when the split files are so different in size - I occasionally cut and paste a couple of characters if a compressed, split file is just over the 6Mb limit.

I don't believe there is a limit to hosting space. I haven't hit it yet at least
And you can upload up to 500 MB at one time. Any files larger than that must be uploaded via FTP or other.

I actually have two SourceForge sites. The other is Gimp Packagers started by myself, Onkel, and Photo Comix a while back. Mostly Gimp painter stuff and GAP, and Math Map.

You could probably also overlay it with a pattern if you wanted.

a question: what do these two do?
- Scale the custom font
- Scale the custom font to actual pixel size

Isn't it enough to just enter my required font-size at the beginning?

It may be that I never actually implemented what I had in mind and meant to return to that - but that was many sleeps ago now!
Will look and see if anything stirs in the remaining synapses.

I haven't even used your Custom Font Python tools plug-ins yet Skinnyhouse.
Mostly my script, and a few commercial programs. Hope that's not cheating. LOL
But i will, i certainly will.
Perhaps it's time for new instructions for certain tabs?
Although i do have most instructions for your plug-ins in PDF format. May be time for an update? They clearly seem to work fine for you, Alan, and Issabella hey!

I can't wait to dive into them. perhaps this weekend i will give it a go.

Hey Rod do what works for you - it seems to work pretty well - the more variety the better!

My scripts are largely attempts to automate processes that otherwise would take hours to do by hand - necessity etc, etc.

Most do have documentation bu in need of a new tool update.
