Hi Odin, great news, but I am still trying to get my first free picture from the site. It seems that no matter how I configure the answers for use, I end up paying. Perhaps it is because I am in Australia or perhaps their website is not updated yet. When I try to get a picture I am confronted by a set of questions regarding purpose, size, length of licence, etc , etc . and most answers lead to "contact your local sales rep" or a Calculated price.

I see it for what it is YouTube-style for Getty photos.

I am probably doing something wrong but I cannot display a getty image that I requested to display here as an example of an imbedded image. The image in question is a very famous photograph of the Yalta Conference where three superpowers met. This image has an imbed symbol underneath.
It appears that I have not read the article correctly. Some images cannot be imbedded for free and some can.
Note this is one of the famous photographs of the WWII ,as famous as the naked girl fleeing in terror in VietNam, or the tank scene in Tiennamen Square.

I have tried to use this imbed in other documents ( but I cannot make it work. LibreWorks, MS Office)
So for me at least this new Getty Image direction does nothing . I can still do a screen shot and I do this only to show that this is possible. Usage of this image for commercial purpose is obviously a No No but what if were to do an exam essay and wanted to incorporate this image , how I do legally imbed without having to pay for a licence and print the essay. The printed essay would have a very poor copy of the image and the imbed would ensure the rights of Getty.


Obviously This is a low resolution image and not usable for any purpose.
