I use garden tomatoes when possible, otherwise, just diced from a can. Also add a very small can tomato sauce for some extra flavor.

Cherokee Purple and Brandywine are some o of the best tasting Heirlooms I've tried. For Cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Cherry is the best variety I've tasted. They're not specific to the Carolinas but yep, many of the best things can be found in the Carolina's. :hehe

We are finally getting tomatoes and cucumbers this week. I love our yellow cherry tomatoes, they are so sweet when you let them get super ripe dark yellow! I could eat them like candy.
