I toyed with it a few minutes and I got frustrated. Some of the features seem to be kinda...idk if it's badly made or I just don't get it. Anyone ever used it or know where I can find some stuff on it to learn?

Scribus is very good and worth learning. Once you get a handle of it you will find it very powerful. It's a page layout program for desktop publishing (like Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign), not a word processor (like Microsoft Word or OfficeLibre Writer). Everything (text, image, inserted files, etc.), is considered an object (think layers) that can be specifically placed. It's a good choice for making elegant PDF's. The Scribus Wiki is excellent.

Yes, I use it often. As Odinbc writes, this is a completely different approach to work with pages. It domes straight from the old type setting in lead. (I made an apprenticeship with that and have therefore much less troubles to use Scribus.) Many things a computer can do, one can not do properly in lead, the most obvious are tables. Complicated ones used to be the job, one got very quickly «ill». So it is with Scribus, this is the biggest problem, as there are as far as I know no possibilities to make calculations.

The program is still in its beginnings and every new version, at the moment we are on 1.4.4, quite a number of new features are usually introduced. So yes, read the wiki, search tutorials, written and videos and join the Scribus-Forums to get help.
