now looking for a name for this kind of mirror effect

NOT orthographic projection because is not (see Note )

so something else...maybe 8-ways mirror (opposed to the standard mirror effect that could be called 4 ways mirror ? )

any other idea ?

NOTE a orthographic projection correspond to unfolding a 3d object as example a a cube but ( as everybody that never played with dice should have noticed )a cube has 6 faces ...not 9 !!

there is, a far i know, no any 3d oblect that may be created by joining 9 rectangles of identical size so i believe can't be a orthographic projection

...and anyway i hope for a more evocative name

the black lines were already on the original so is perfect.
I didn't play much with the MM composer but i feel very tempted now with such good ingredient

would be possible edit the script to add a option to increase the layer size instead then mantain the original size (yes i know will be much bigger and could be very risky to use such options on already large image :wh ... )

Rob's result looks identical to using Simple's Center Tile plugin. Cool stuff. :)

I don't know if MathMap can create a larger layer. My understanding it will only modify pixels of an existing layer.
